Christian McCaffrey Slams Influencer's 'Evil' Critique of Olivia Culpo's Wedding Dress
Christian McCaffrey, the NFL's reigning Offensive Player of the Year, recently married former Miss Universe Olivia Culpo. However, their joyous occasion was marred by a fashion influencer's harsh critique of Culpo's wedding gown.
Influencer Kennedy Bingham, known as Gown Eyed Girl, described Culpo's long-sleeved Dolce & Gabbana ballgown as "modest" and criticized its lack of personality in a social media post. "I’ve been a bridal creator for four years now, and I have never said this before, but I do not like this wedding dress," Bingham said in her video.
McCaffrey responded forcefully to Bingham's comments, calling her post "evil." He commented on Instagram, "What an evil thing to post online. I hope you can find joy and peace in the world, the way my beautiful wife does."
Bingham's criticism extended beyond the gown's style, attacking Culpo's recent statement that she "didn't want (the dress) to exude sex in any way, shape or form." Culpo had told Vogue she wanted a wedding dress that felt as serious as her commitment to marriage.
Bingham argued that a bride's choice of dress has little to do with the success of a marriage, and accused Culpo of promoting a narrow view of bridal attire. She also found it "odd" and "icky" that Culpo emphasized being "covered" in her wedding dress, especially since Culpo is not typically a modest dresser.
Culpo responded to the critique on TikTok, calling Bingham a "bizarre human."
Bingham's five-minute video also took issue with Culpo's statement that McCaffrey found her "most beautiful" when she was "timeless, covered, and elegant," questioning why McCaffrey would prefer her to be "covered."
